Emile Giffard was a pharmasist in the Loire Valley, and in 1855 he invented a liqueur that people absolutely adored so he changed his pharmacy into distillery. Fruit liqueur made from blackberry extracts and blackberry juice. On the palate it is has juicy blackberry fruit, complimented by a soft bitterness.
