Wine Storage Tips and Tricks
  • Store wines with cork in a cool, dark place. It’s best to keep your wine in a cool, dark place with low humidity (like the basement).
  • Store wines on their sides. Wine should be stored horizontally to prevent oxidation and evaporation of the liquid during storage. In other words, store your bottles on their sides instead of standing them up right-side up!
  • Store wines in an open rack or rack system so that air can circulate freely around each bottle and prevent mould growth from happening inside of each bottle.
  • Store wines on a shelf or in an open cabinet where air circulation is optimal but also away from direct sunlight because light can degrade certain components found within any given wine which would spoil its taste over time if exposed too long without adequate protection from UV rays emitted by the sun’s rays (this would happen especially quickly under fluorescent lights), thereby ruining all hope for having delicious vino around after opening it up when needed most later down the road…
