This is an awesome blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and others, from vines planted as long ago as 1920 on a mix of terroirs that complement each other – the famous ‘galet’ puddingstones, sand, red clay and sandy-limestone hillsides. Deep in colour, it smells of black fruit infused with the local ‘garrigue’ herbeage. Even when young, the tannins are super-silky and fine, meaning that you do not need to wait for years to enjoy it.
